The Sovereign and the Fool are in Us
A portrait captures the interior light of the sitter, both men and women, revealing the sovereign and the fool that are inside all of us. The work of Lita Cabellut is the mirror we use to see reflected our duplicity, enabling us to dive deep down into what we are: a split reality; thesis and anti-thesis.
Vicenç Villatoro (Terrassa, 1957) is a Catalan writer, journalist and politician. Graduate in Information Sciences, he has been the director of the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB) since November 2014; director of the Fundació Ramon Llull since 2010; member of the Barcelona Board of Information and Communication Administration since 2008, and is a member of the editorial board at Edicions 62.
Rosa Vergés (Barcelona, 1955) is a film director with a degree in art history from the Sorbonne University in Paris and the University of Barcelona. With her first film Boom Boom (1990), she won a Goya Award for best first film (1991), the Sant Jordi Award and the Fotogrames de Plata. Some critics consider her, together with other directors, at the forefront of a generational change in Spanish cinema.
Xavier Marcé (1957) is a Catalan economist who has been cultural director at the L'Hospitalet city council, director of resources and cultural action at the ICUB, director of the Catalan Institute of Cultural Industries, and director of expansion at Grup Focus. He has recently been an advisor to the Barcelona city council’s Institute of Culture. He is a regular contributor to the Ara newspaper and the Catalonia edition of El Mundo.
